Each photograph shows an object in the foreground that is in free fall. As only the background is blurred, it can be concluded that both the object and the camera are falling at the same time.
With the help of an apparatus, the camera and the object are dropped at exactly the same moment and a photo is taken during the fall. There are 3 movements in the image: the stationary object, which can be seen as the initial system, the vertical movement of the interior of the train and the horizontal motionless exterior space. mass as a matter is a work about photography, about the representation of time in images and about the characteristics of the medium itself.
